Sorry folks, this is NOT a Sneak Peek at the Project: Evolution story I've been talking about, it is another story I'm getting into writing. It is a Crossover between RWBY, and Final Fantasy XIII (To be more specific: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII)
And before you ask, the storyline is based off the game, and will have near enough chapters to keep yourself satisfied (Last I counted, I believe I was going to write near 60 Chapters)
Without further ado, shall we get started? The bells toll at 3 AM, and everyone has finally prepared for the show of a lifetime, even if it was at the end of the world. The audience awes in wonder and excitement over the play as it finally begins. People from Yusnaan gather on the rooftops as the show finally enters the first part: The lights dim on the statue outside of the Patron’s Palace, and everyone is in position. The show begins as the dancers gather in the smoke. They turn to the statue, and continue their ritual-esque dance.
“Chosen one, become my blade,” The VO booms out, “Cast aside all that you are. Throw down your life, for the sake of my new world!” The VO finishes, just as the dancers kneel before the stage, and from that darkness, a voice echoes out:
“To save the people of this world, I would give everything I am.”
The lights begin to come back on, and focus on the figure in the center of the stage. Her dress, golden, like the hair upon her head, and her eyes as violet as the rose upon her wrist. She stands before the crowd, speaking out once more.
“Hear our prayers, God. Let your blessings rain down upon us.”
“Yea, you are the true savior!” The VO booms once more, “Lead my people and become a beacon of salvation!”
The woman gracefully moves her open hand toward the sword she held in her other, a graceful flame burning in her hand.
“In the name of radiant God, I bear aloft this light, and banish the darkness,” She speaks out once more, the sword burning alight with the flame she bore of her hand. Slowly, she approaches the opposite end of the stage, the flame-covered sword pointed to the night sky before coming back down, and lighting the candle in front of the woman. Around her, the other candles begin to light, and the stage begins to lift into the air. Fireworks and cheers enter the woman’s ears, but she feels unfazed by the attention she was receiving.
Once in the air, the stage begins to move up around the statue, towards another stage. On the stage the woman was upon, she began to twirl around, the flame-covered sword complimenting the twirls with a trail of fire following the tip. Once at the second stage, the woman steps up onto the said stage, all the while the VO begins to boom out, “It is time, my servant. Let the flames of devotion consume you.”
The woman sets the sword aflame once more, ready to light the candles of the new stage she stood upon.
“Yeah, I’ll show you a real fire,” She speaks, pausing for a moment to do a spin, and point the flame-covered sword at another candle. “Let’s see how you burn!” She shouts, the candles around her lighting up once again. The stage begins to elevate, but this time, at a much quicker pace, and with the trajectory, it aims right for the left wing of the statue. The woman aboard the stage makes a jump over the broken wing, and back onto the stage. Meanwhile, the people beneath her make an immediate run for it as the fragment of the statue falls to the ground, too near the fireworks. Upon contact, an explosion occurs, and the fireworks begin firing off due to the fire. The crowd goes wild as they believe it is a part of the show.
“Come, savior!” The VO booms out, “Return to my side!”
The woman jumps off the falling stage with grace, and lands on the third one without breaking a sweat. The stage she was once on falls to the ground, the immediate area retreating from the impact and destruction the stage would cause. The crowd still goes crazy, under the assumption that this was all just a part of the show.
The woman turns to statue, sword pointed dead center to the face of the statue.
“Rise to the heavens, and receive the blessings of almighty God!” The VO booms out, all the while the woman slowly walks around the stage, sword pointed to the candles. The stage around her burns, almost as elegantly as the candles were.
She lights the sword once again, spinning around the fiery stage with pure elegance, as if the fire was nothing more than just a prop to the stage. After she elegantly spins across the stage, she slices the candle in front of her, pointing her sword to the sky once again. Fireworks shoot all around the stage, while the woman gazed on at the city, again unfazed by the light and sound of the fireworks around her. At this point, the audience is going crazy with cheers and applauses, still under the assumption that this was a part of the show.
The woman then speaks up, the audience falling to a hush as she finally speaks up.
“My name is Yang Xiao Long, I am one of the four true saviors,” She speaks aloud, “I was made to serve God!” She shouts to the people, before turning to face the statue. “But if that God lies to me,” She pauses, gazing at the statue with her sword pointed right at it. With a burst of speed, she jumps off the stage, and onto the statue of ‘God’, and turns to face the audience once more. She raises her sword into the air, and brings it down upon the statue’s head. “Then he dies!” She finishes. The statue’s face begins to crack, and fragments begin to fall off the face, and into the inferno that was once the ground beneath her feet. Beneath the statue, a series of explosions take place, leading to the statue falling into the wall of the Patron’s Palace. With grace, the woman runs off the statue, and into the Patron’s Palace, where her next challenge awaited her.
“Hope said the Chaos here was powerful, and that the Patron who tried to keep the Chaos at bay was his friend, Snow Villiers. This is my goal, to save Snow, and bring him into the next world with everyone else. Like it or not, I will save him, and I’ll help him see reason, whether he wants to, or not.”
A Rose, who will be the Salvation of the City of Light’s darkness.
A White as pure as snow, who will bring peace to an Outland full of turmoil and chaos.
A Black Cat among the dunes of the Desert, who will find peace with the destruction of an ancient artifact.
A Yellow Flame, who will bring peace to a city teeming with Chaos.
Four saviors, all chosen by the Goddess of Death to succeed in where she had failed, and restore balance by removing God from his almighty throne.
The four shall be the Hands of Her Salvation, and lead the lost souls to a world teeming with life and peace. A world they call their own.
